SOPA and deleting my links

Since SOPA/PIPA could potentially be passed, I'm deleting all my links on my blog for fear that I'll be imprisoned without due process. The reason is that SOPA allows anyone to be harassed just by simply being accused in "assisting" in copyright infringement. SOPA will be voted on sometime in February and PIPA will be voted on January 24. If these 2 bills pass I won't post another blog topic until they are repealed. Not that I posted that much in the first place, but I want to free of the fear that action will be taken against me for some arbitrary reason. So until then, adios.

Secrets of Healthy Weight Loss

I own a website now! It's mainly targeted at women who want to get thin. It hasn't appeared in the Google search engines yet, but maybe if I post the link here that might just do the trick.

So don't bother clicking on the below link if you're not interested. Really, I mean it! Unless you plan to sign up don't click on ...the link. I only have 8000 MB of bandwidth that visitors are allowed to download from per month. Each page view takes up 1 MB of my bandwidth. So don't visit my site unless you want to subscribe and receive my follow-up messages in your email address.

Helping out a College Student

Hey everyone, I just found out about this website called chipin.com. If you got a paypal account then it's easy to get people to donate to you. If anyone who's reading my blog is feeling a little generous I would ask that you give me at least $1. Right now I'm trying to raise $5000 by this time next year for my college tuition. If everyone who visited this page donated that would be awesome. So here it is:

Something About Scams and Telemarketers

I'm sure most of you guys know this, but just so you guys know STAY AWAY from Herbalife and Bank Card Empire. They are basically just scams. If anything else, NEVER buy anything from someone who calls you. I have to confess that I have naively fallen for their fancy fast talk as well as not giving you a chance to not think.

I wish that I would have thought about Googling these names that telemarketers sell you, but I was inexperienced then. Now if I ever hear someone asking "hello, is this (insert name here)" I will instantly know that person is just offering me something that is a scam. How they found out about my number is basically this, I stupidly gave my dorm number online to one of those "get a free (insert product here) today." Now I get about 6000 spam emails a month at my main email address, which is by the way gmail. Thank goodness that they constantly increase the amount of email space and that after 30 days the spam email gets deleted (of course I always click the "delete all spam" button. Oh yea, I'm sure you guys know this too but another thing is that if you think that by "unsubcribing" to spam emails in your spam folder will decrease them THINK AGAIN. Even clicking on a spam email may in fact tell them that your email address is active.

I could go on a lot longer about this stuff, but the main thing is too google ANYTHING that seems suspicious or some deal that seems to be logically irrational (aka "too good to be true"). So yea, just thought I would post a thread like this to let anyone who has not fallen prey to these guys TO BE CAREFUL when you're out on your own. I just let my parents deal with all this stuff and never bothered to ask about it much. That changed when I got my first bank account in college. Needless to say, I should have been a lot more skeptical back then.

Anyway, happy Starcraft gaming. :D

Edit 1:

Any edits I make on "Edit 1" will simply link to other websites describing fraud and other scams. One last thing, a website that you sign up for an account for will NEVER ask for your username and password or ask for your Credit Card. Anyway, here are the websites:

1. http://www.cambridgenow.ca/npps/story.cfm?id=1332 - Lesson on credit card theft
2.

Edit 2:

One website that does report on rip offs is ripoffreport.com, but they aren't 100% reliable as they have been known to accept bribes from websites that they are reporting as scams to delete all negative comments on them. That and the fact that there are people who cleverly write "positive" comments on whatever topic that is claiming a company is a scam. But it doesn't have to be this website though, it could be any other website that reports scams too. As I've said before, always google ANYTHING that seems suspicious like positive or even negative reviews that are extreme or don't give enough evidence.

I don't know all there is to know about scams and how to spot them, but if you want to know more about that kind of stuff you can always Google it. Thank goodness for search engines and Google. Although, Google could still have it's shortcomings though. You just never know.

Blog Updates

I've been tweaking this and my Starcraft blog around a bit. Mainly just adjusting some of my blog gadgets around as well as putting up a video link gadeget to my Youtube account. So far I've only got one, but I might some more up in the future. Also I've been making some updates to my sc2armory.com and teamliquid.com profiles. I'm known on Team Liquid website as Attolite.

As for college, I met the director of the first Narnia movie Michael Flaherty (I think that's how you spell it) at my college along with some other students who are in the same major as me. We basically ate pizza in the colleges' art building and he even gave each of us a DVD copy of the Narnia Prince Caspian movie. That was pretty nice of him to do that. That happened at 5:30 PM my time. We ate and talked until 6:50 PM or so and then I went back to my dorm room to play Starcraft using the Hot Spot Shield application. For some weird reason my college network is weird and I can only 1v1 people online unless I use this application. So I tried to use it, but I couldn't connect for some reason. but I digress, that just kept me busy until 7:30 PM when Flaherty was going to show the movie in one the mini movie theater classrooms on campus. I had already seen the movie, but decide to go see it again anyway since it had been awhile since I saw it in theaters. However, about 20 minutes into the movie I fell asleep and woke up when everyone was leaving. I then made my way out of the building and drowsily walked back to my dorm room through the cold weather. Then I woke up at 3:30 AM, took a long shower, and have been on my laptop doing various internet activities.

So anyway, that's what I did yesterday after my classes and this morning as well. I better stop writing so that I can eat some breakfast though. That's it for now. Thank you to anyone who has read this post. I will continue to try to write a new post every 3 days or so. But that all depends on how much work I've got.

What's been happening since the Last Post

Ok, it's been like over 10 months since January 30 that I made this free blog and I haven't said anything since then. Silly huh? Well, here's what happened since then:

1. Finished my 2nd semester as a freshman
2. Went to Thailand over the summer
3. Came back to John Brown University for 1st Semester Sophmore year in August
4. Bought a new 1 TB external hard drive for back up. Yay! :)
5. Stayed in J. Alvin for the Fall and Thanksgiving breaks and ate Thanksgiving Dinner at my Cinematography professor's house.

At the moment, I woke up from a 10 hour sleep from 5 PM to 3 AM and missed dinner. Kinda hungry at the moment, but it's nothing new for me since I skip breakfast most of the time and only have 12 meals per week. As for Christmas Break, I need to get my laundry done for once ( I haven't done laundry since I got back to the USA and on Friday August 22, 2008. Also, I need to study for exams coming up next week and get some homework and a cinema 1-2 minute Title Sequence project to get done by December 16 at 8 AM. As for where I'm going to go I'm thinking of spending the Christmas at my Aunt and Uncle's house in Barling, AR (near Fort Smith). Either that or go to Aaron's place in Denton, Texas (near Dallas). However, he doesn't have any idea at the moment where he wants to go mainly because he doesn't really care since it's still over 1 week till we need to leave. He probably won't do anything about it until like after his last exam on December 18 when it's like 2 days before everyone needs to leave.

Until then, I'm just going to focus on what I need to do before Christmas Break and keep asking Aaron what his plans are for Christmas until December 17 and then I'm emailing my Aunt and Uncle if they can pick me up on December 19. Well, this is all I'm going to write for the moment. So until next time, I'm going to very busy. Cheers. ^^io

Just Starting Out

This my first FREE blog spot. I will put up more stuff later on as the year goes by. Or not. We shall see in the future.
